ANG INIIITT!!!!. I swear, I almost had a heat stroke. Haha. Or maybe I'm just overreacting. But seriously, the port area is one of the dryest places on Earth. Even with all the seawater nearby, it still felt so dry. Anyway, moving on.
South Harbor:
I never thought that there would be a lot f people visiting the place. We were there before 2pm kanina but then they were still closed so we went out to buy food and eat. So anyway, on the way back, mainit pa rin and from the gate to the ship was a loooong walk. I don't even know where to go, I was just following all the people before me thinking na maybe they were going the same place as i did and as it turned out, they did.
Outside the ship:
In front of the ship was a long line of people. Talo pa yung lines sa mga rides sa Star City during Saturday midnight. And did I mention it was hot? The sun was shining like crazy. And then there were volunteers offering glasses of water to the people in line that I was quite hesitant on taking kasi I wasn't so sure if it's clean. So kahit parang sandpaper na ang dila ko, tiniis ko na lang. I was pretty sure naman na there would be drinks inside.
Inside the bookstore:
Wow. They need some crowd control. Ang daming tao as in. I was sooo looking forward for an airconditioned bookstore dahil sobrang init sa labas but it tunred out na wala sila non. My my my. All my hopes for cool air suddenly crashed. I was telling myself na to just get it over with pero with the crowd that much, ang hirap gumalaw. But in fairness naman to the books, they were pretty cheap, like booksale / books for less cheap. Ang sad lang kasi all they were selling were children's books, religious/self help books and cook books. There were novels din naman pero again leaning towards religion and self-help. Not that there's anything wrong with that, they're just not my thing. I'm not crazy about religion, I'm pretty confident about my faith, and I still don't find myself needing any help yet, so really, the selection was a bit sad for me.
Having said that, I was still able to buy at least 3 books.
MV Doulos International Cafe:
This is the fun part. You would think from the name it's like an international restaurant or something. Once again all my hopes for a pleasant dining experience crashed when I saw this. It doesn't even come close to a cafe nor does it resemble one. It's like Burger Machine on board. Hahaha. Putting all the frustrations and disappointments aside, bumili pa rin ako ng food at drinks just cause I was so thirsty. At nagkawalaan pa kami ng Mom ko niyan kahit ang liit na lang ng lugar. Haha.
Before leaving the ship:
Ok so after that wonderful dining experience we decided to call it a day, on the way out, may isa pa palang bookstore and it turned out na mas mura siya kaysa dun sa previous one. 3 books/cd's/items for 200 pesos with a free bag. Not bad considering na all the books were brand new and most were hardbound.
Leaving:
Me and my mom had some photo ops but then, since she's the only one who could take my picture, I'd rather not post them. Nakakalungkot lang kasi kahit madaming pics, hindi maganda, tapos lahat ng kuha ko sa kanya, maganda. Ang sad.
Summary:
I could really sum up this experience in one word. HOT
Just to be clear. Na-enjoy ko naman siya. Di nga lang katulad ng inaasahan.
