Shadows
For some of us it is on rare occasion, for others it seems to be a way of life.
Self discovery and the events that precipitate it certainly add to this feeling.
That's how through a chain of events I fell in love.

MV Doulos Experience
South Harbor:
I never thought that there would be a lot f people visiting the place. We were there before 2pm kanina but then they were still closed so we went out to buy food and eat. So anyway, on the way back, mainit pa rin and from the gate to the ship was a loooong walk. I don't even know where to go, I was just following all the people before me thinking na maybe they were going the same place as i did and as it turned out, they did.
Outside the ship:
In front of the ship was a long line of people. Talo pa yung lines sa mga rides sa Star City during Saturday midnight. And did I mention it was hot? The sun was shining like crazy. And then there were volunteers offering glasses of water to the people in line that I was quite hesitant on taking kasi I wasn't so sure if it's clean. So kahit parang sandpaper na ang dila ko, tiniis ko na lang. I was pretty sure naman na there would be drinks inside.

Why I Didn't See The Wildcards
Yeah, it's sad I didn't get to see the Wildcard show last night but I'm so happy because the event was so worth it. The whole day I was at the NBC Tent setting up wireless connection for the Grand Product Launch held last night. It was a long and tiring day.
Anyway, the event was awesome. It was the first big event I attended for the work I do. I was there the entire day during the set-up and rehearsals but still, the show didn't fail to impress me. The place, the ambiance, the production and the program was really coool.

My Faves Are In
Yey. i'm so excited for this season because both of my faves are in the top 13. Okay,s o I'm having an overdose of AI but whatevs. I like it and I can't help it.It's the only thing that keeps me alive. Hahaha.Anyway, as I was saying, both of them are in. Meganda and Lamberta. And look at this picture, they look good together and they'd make a cute couple (if it weren't for Adam being "who he is").
Meganda, born Megan Joy Corkrey, is Simon's "Golden Girl". She looks like a cross between Reese Witherspoon and Alexis bledel. She sings non-rangy songs really well. She's like the Brooke White/Jason Castro of Season 8 only with a bit of Carly Smithson tatoos all over. Hehe.
Lamberta, Adam "Diva" Lambert, is anatural born performer. He can sing, he can dance and he can act. He's been in so many musicals and has performed in bars and has, unlike Meganda, a vocal range like no other.
This is what I was referring to for "he is who he is".
Putting all this gay things aside. This guy can sing really well. Lamberta has had too many videos (and pictures) online and they really showcased how good he is as a performer. Mr. Dead Wife too has great vocals but he's, well I guess, kind of boring. I'm not so sure if he can "bring it".
Anoop too was in and so was Matt Giraud. But I have my faves since auditions and from then til now it's Meganda and Lamberta.
Sadly, her highness, Mother Queen of all the planets, Tatiana Del Toro is out.

Go Girl Lets Girls Go Standing Up
ATTENTION ALL GIRLS! If you ever wondered how you can pee standing up without creating a mess, here's your chance.
Go Girl is a new device that lets women use the bathroom like men does - standing up.
It's a product (a female urination device / FUD) targeted for women on-the-go. Women who usually travel a lot or those who do sports and don't really have time to waste on public toilets and those who don't want any form of contact on any surface. Now anyone can pee with ease.
And it's pink. It totally matches those MMDA urinals out there. Haha.
Go Girl is easy to use. Simply unzip your pants, lower your panties, hold Go Girl against your body, AIM & PEE. It's that simple!!!
To know more about Go Girl visit their website at http://www.go-girl.com/

My First Day Down Under
If I were to leave the country, I would've already told a lot of people before I even get my visa . haha. Anyway, yesterday was the end of unemployment and bumming around, today was my first day. Finally.
All I can say is... DATCOMU+COMMSYS OVERLOAD!
I swear, I was having some sort of information overload attack the entire day. I don't have a pc yet so I didn't much have to do. all I had was a desk/cubicle and what they made me do was read the entire product portfolio (I have to know all of it because I'm gonna be dealing with it for the next several months) and researches on the latest network developments.
And then came the meeting that took longer than I expected. Never thought I'm gonna have an overtime my first day. I'm so tired. My body hasn't adjusted yet with the sudden change after a long time of doing nothing and here I am all tired and blogging. I need some sleep.
And ohhh. did I mention my boss made me introduce myself to the entire department after the morning prayer? All the attention was on me and I was caught off guard. My speech didn't make any sense. At least I thought it didn't. But I hope it did.
Good night.

Spider Drawing Sold For $15,000: Bidder Refuses to Pay

Andrea, remember that spider email? Haha. Apparently someone from Sweden auctioned the drawing on eBay and it sold for US $10,000 (AUS $15,000. Haha. Natawa ako dun sa email pero shet, yung ebay transaction panalo. And since it's a binding contract, once you won the bid you have to pay, the seller may file a case against the winning bidder if he/she refuses to pay.
Read the email here.
Read the ebay article here and here.

Thief Alert
Check this out. This girl is a thief. A classmate of mine had just been robbed by her. They hired a help from an agency and they ended up getting robbed and to make matters worse, the agency, the guards and the police don't care.
The security guards in our subdivision has these lame excuses why they didn't even inspect this person. The police didn't even ask for a photograph or description when we filed the complaint, so how in the world are they going to catch her. And worse, the agency from where we got her, seems to be more concerned with this thief's safety rather than what happened to us because of their negligence in doing a complete background check. They even think that we are fabricating the whole story so that we can get money from them, the nerve.
I said this before and I'll say it again. I really hate policemen.

Baby-Faced Dad Update: Who's The Real Dad?

Richard (left) and Tyler (right) could also be the father.
After the shocking news broke on Friday, two new teenage boys claimed they slept with Chantelle. Richard Goodsell, 16, claimed that he slept with her about three months before the pregnancy and another boy, Tyler Barker, 14, said he also slept with Chantelle about nine months ago.

OMFG!!! My Hard Drive Just Got Corrupted!!!
I mean come on!!! I was browsing as always with my external hard drive sitting beside me when suddenly Windows popped up a balloon saying that "F:/???? is corrupted. Use CHKDSK Utility to fix this". So I did. I ran Check Disk. And my pc hanged. So I restarted and it wouldn't start up. So I unplugged the hard drive and restarted the pc (again). Once I was logged in and Windows is fully functional, I reattached the hard drive and to my horror, It changed from NTFS File System to RAW. Now Windows couldn't even read it. It's recognized as a drive but very much useless because it's inaccessible.
0 Used Space
0 Free Space
0 Capacity
I'm ran check disk again but nothing happens. I ran PC recovery (the freeware) and still nothing happens.
THIS IS SO FUCKED UP!!!
I still have pictures there that I haven't been able to back up yet. (or uploaded here) Year 2008 pics and videos. I really don't care about the music or the movies or everything else (I could always find copies of those). All I want are the pictures (and some school files).
Now I have to find another way to recover all of it (or most of it)(or some of it)(hopefully). I'm getting used to this files getting corrupted shit and I know it's fucked but I'm kind of surprised I'm not panicking at all. I'm horrified BIG TIME but I know that as long as I don't do anything stupid with the drive, files can still be recovered.

The Bromance Ends

It's the end of the line for BFF's Jamar and Danny. Or at least for one of them. Danny in, Jamar out.
Their relationship has been interesting for the past few weeks the new season of Idol ran. One would actually think they have more going on than what they show on TV. But I think it's kind of sweet the way they relate to each other and how comfortable they are with each other. It's really bromantic. HAHAHA.
I really thought Jamar did well on his performances. He had the voice, he had the personality, I thought, like his BFF, he nailed it. I'm not a big fan, never were, but I just thought he had the chance. But the judges think otherwise. Let's just hope Danny makes it to the top 3 with Adam and Megan. (may favorite na ako)
It's sad to see them part but that's AI for you.

The Head of Doom
Earlier this evening while riding an FX on my way home along the slow-moving traffic of Taft Avenue corner Pedro Gil I saw this guy standing by the pavement waiting along with hundreds of of waiting crowd and passersby. He was wearing one of the most (not exactly the most but I like to exaggerate) bizarre hair color I've seen. Red, white and blue. Round like thick rings on his head. I mean seriously, why that color? It made him look like a feather duster. And not a clean one at that. Sure, he must be inspired by the French flag or something when he did that but having it on his head just made him look silly.It's an eye catcher alright, in a really baaad way. And don't get me started on the shoes. Put his head and his shoes together and we have a worn-out duster best suited to be thrown out.

Rafael Nadal Wins the Australian Open 2009

Yey. Raffy won. Rafael Nadal beat Roger Federer to win the Australian Open 2009 - Mens Singles. The win made Nadal the first Spaniard in history to win the Australian Open and the fourth male tennis player to win Grand Slam titles on three different surfaces. It was his first major championship on hardcourt.
Too bad Djokovic didn't make it to the finals. He was the defending champion but he retired during the quartefinals against Andy Roddick due to heat stress. WTF was that?
Nonetheless, I'm still hoping that these two, Djokovic and Nadal, get more championships this year.

Priest With Highlights?
The priest who led the Sunday mass I attended earlier today was wearing one and I can't help myself but stare at him for having that. It's nothing close to vulgar to tell you honestly, it's actually one of the subtlest highlights I've seen and actually quite nice but it just happened to exist on the head of a person whom I expected it the least, a priest. Don't they have to be simple and live a simple life? Isn't it part of their vows?
If I'm not mistaken, they have three vows right? Purity, chastity and poverty. Or was it chastity, poverty and obedience? Anyway, the point is, they have a vow of poverty and having highlights practically screams "I'm soooo above the poverty line".

The Tracy Isabel Borres Blog (and her response)
Who is Tracy Isabel Borres? She's a 4th year AB Psychology student from Ateneo de Manila University. That's all I know. Hey, I'm not a stalker, though I do have some stalking tendencies. You may see more of her here.
The first picture is a link to her Facebook profile. The image sequence goes from top, left to right, to bottom, left to right.
Photos (except the first) courtesy of ocknarf with some photoshop work to make it more organized.
If you don't like reading one image after the other, you may read through the scrollbox below. Enjoy! (or not).

Now for my thoughts...
Wala ehh. Wala na akong masabi. Blog niya yan ehh. Pakialam ko ba sa blog niya. (but in all seriousness, sobrang naiinis ako dito) Kung gusto ko mag-rant, gagawa rin ako ng sarili kong blog with all my complaints in it. At mag-re-react ang buong mundo because of all the insensitivity and rude choice of words. Pero wala pa akong topic. And besides, since sa Facebook yan pinublish, malamang 'for her friends only' lang yan. Friends who would understand her no matter how harsh or insesnsitive her words may be.
Parang yung "The Talented Mr. Montano" na scandal. Ano ba!!! Bat ba pinapatulan pa? Isn't it obvious enough that she's a brat? (that was harsh) She was raised differently. And duhh! Like as if hindi kayo nagkukwento to your friends about the most horrible things that happened during an unusual experience.
For example (example lang ha, wag magulo): You and your family visited your relatives in the province and they aren't the most well off people in your clan. Then you came back and told your friends.
| Friend 1: Bakasyonista: Friend 2: Bakasyonista: Friend 1: Bakasyonista: All: Friend 2: Friend 1: All: Bakasyonista: Friend 2: | Dude, san ka galing bat ang tagal mo nawala? Nahh, I just went with the rents to visit our relatives. Talaga? How was it? Horrible pare! They like live in a death trap pare. Whoahhh!! Really? I swear pare. Their house is like a dump. I couldn't even believe myself for surviving a week there. Can you imagine? Meron pa rin silang out house and it's really disgusting. Parang, helloo? Nasan sila nang nagpalit ang milenyo?...(and so on)... (laughing out loud) Dude, that was the funniest thing. Hahaha. Yeah, sobra. Pero don't you remember, you also had that kind of experience sa... All: (laughing out loud) Yeah, I remember that I swear pare sobrang down right hilarious non. Arrgghh!! Pinaalala niyo na naman! I hate you guys! and so on... |
My creative juices aren't flowing right now. I wasn't born to be a creative writer anyway but you get the point. People do that all the time (the panglalait part) and they don't even notice. People make fun of other people's misfortune but they don't do it in public. It's a way of life. A bad way I know but it's inevitable. When you're fully stressed out, everything around you is ugly, everything is miserable, take my "Tanginang Morning" blog for example, I'm the center of the universe, everyone else is crap.
All of these written, I just wanna say na hindi ko siya ipinagtatanggol. What she did was wrong, but people who react so badly aren't any better. If any, they're just being pathetic as always.
After all of the buzz around the net regarding her note, she wrote a response to a guy named Mike Abundo, a blogger who started it all (I think? He has all the information about her). This is her response.
Photo courtesy of http://mikeabundo.com/

so there
Did she have a point?
YES.
Do I believe her?
NO.
Why?
I have trust issues. What's it to you
Now it's your turn.

at the Office of the Election Officer (OEO) of the district/city/municipality where the applicant resides from Monday to Friday, during regular office hours at 8:00 o’clock a.m. to 5:00 o’clock p.m.
Are you qualified to vote?
If you are a Filipino citizen who is:
- At least eighteen (18) years of age;
- A resident of the Philippines for at least one (1) year and in the place wherein he proposes to vote for at least six (6) months on or before the day of the election; and
- Not otherwise disqualified by law.
You are disqualified if:
- you have been sentenced by final judgment to suffer imprisonment of not less than one (1) year, such disability not having been removed by plenary pardon or amnesty;
- you have been been djudged by final judgment of a competent court or tribunal of having committed any crime involving disloyalty to the duly constituted government, such as rebellion, sedition, violation of the firearms laws, or any crime against national security;

You should present original and photocopy of any of the following current identification documents which bears your current address, photograph and signature:
- Employee’s identification card (ID) with the signature of the employer or authorized representative;
- Postal ID;
- Student’s ID or library card, signed by the school authority;
- Senior Citizen’s ID;
- Driver’s license;
- NBI/PNP clearance;
- Passport;
- SSS/GSIS ID;
- Integrated Bar of the Philippine (IBP) ID;
- License issued by the Professional Regulatory Commission (PRC); and
- Any other valid ID.
If you don't have any of these identification documents, you may be identified under oath by any registered voter of the precinct, or by any of your relatives within the fourth civil degree of consanguinity or affinity who are registered voters of the same city/municipality. (Momma I need you! haha). If you can't be identified by any of these means, then you shall not be given the application form or in case of downloaded forms, the form will not be accepted.
What should you expect during application?
(this is based on my experience a week ago, 05 January 2009)
Expect long lines (specially if you come in late like me, duhh). That's what you get for not coming early. Anyway, The application has four steps: Verification, Interview, Biometrics and Schedule.
STEP ONE
For verification, you shall present your documents to the officer, he/she will ask you some questions and then he/she'll put a stamp on it. Wait for your name to be called and voila you have your application form with a date on it when you shall return for the next step (this depends on the district I think). Being a non-obedient citizen, I proceeded to the next step right away.
STEP TWO
Longer lines (at least in District 2 of Quezon City). For the interview, you shall present your accomplished application form together with the verified identification to the officer, he/she will ask you some questions, check for missing information, have you sign the forms and he/she will sign on it and take it You then shall wait for your name to be called (again).
The return date didn't really matter. I think they're just doing it for crowd control. The later you come, the longer the lines.
STEP THREE
Biometrics. They'll transfer all the information from the submitted forms to the computer, take your electronic thumbmark and forefingermark 3 or 4 times (I lost count after the second), take your electronic signature (like in the DLSU ID, where you sign on a flat black surface where you can't see what you're doing making it difficult to make your signature look normal) and finally take a picture of you.
Now for the messy part, thumbmarks with ink.
STEP FOUR
I don't know what this is for and why they called it schedule when there's only one day to vote, but they'll just give you the application stub stating your name, application number and precinct number. It's like this rectangular piece of paper they give you detached from your submitted application form.
AND YOU'RE DONE! YOU ARE A REGISTERED VOTER!!!
It's that simple.
It'll take you probably 3-5 hours to finish everything. I started at 9:30 a.m. and finished everything by 2:30 p.m. with a 12-to-1 lunch break.
One final reminder: DON'T FORGET TO VOTE!!!

What is up with PDEA and Lasalle?
And why on earth does ABS-CBN show videos of PDEA doing investigation inside the campus? Lasalle lang ba may drug users? Helloooo!!! Ang dami kayang users at pushers from other schools and yet it's no big deal. But once that ls name get involved with any crime or scandal, napakalaking balita.
Just because they own no big names doesn't mean they don't matter. They too have the right to be humiliated...
...But then again no one would care.
When a thing ceases to be a subject of controversy, it ceases to be a subject of interest.
